Fish Out director, Bruce Kendrick decided to re-establish the annual Osprey Family Weekend at Tunkwa Provincial Park …. the last one being held several years ago when Will Wright was in charge of fish-outs. By all accounts, it was a resounding success. In total more than twenty five members and guests of the Osprey and Penticton Flyfishing Clubs were in attendance for the Pot Luck Dinner on Saturday Night. Associate Osprey member, Ken Baker, is now a member of the Penticton club.
As the lake was unusually high, fishing was spotty …. the largest fish caught was brought in by Bruce’s grandson, Liam. At the potluck dinner, we were treated to an endless array of culinary delights … from roasted corn, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, several types of salads to blueberry pie and ice cream. The only negative on the weekend was the campfire ban which Bruce was notified of on the Friday morning. A pity as Will had cut more than enough wood for the weekend.
